Our Services
Hazardous Waste Landfill
PPLi’s hazardous waste landfill is engineered to Indonesian,
World Bank, and US-EPA standards. Stable hazardous wastes are deposited
directly into the onsite hazardous waste landfill. The methods and
materials used in the construction of the landfill assure its integrity.
Water (called leachate) that drips through the waste and is trapped
by the impermeable layers of HDPE liner and then collected and treated
onsite. Skilled personnel operate the landfill to international standards.
Redundant environmental monitoring systems provide proof of the system
integrity. The landfill liner system has 4 impermeable layers. PPLi
is responsible for site closure and post closure care and has funding
that is explicitly reserved for these purposes. PPLi’s ability
to meet its long-term obligations allows customers to feel confident
knowing that their waste is properly disposed of and is permanently
secure.
Hazardous & Non-Hazardous Liquid Treatment
Most industrial processes generate liquid wastes in various amounts. The liquid
wastes may be hazardous or non-hazardous depending on the type of
processes and raw materials. PPLi can handle ALL your liquid waste
disposal needs and minimize your investment costs.
PPLi recently constructed an integrated liquid treatment process
to further serve our customer’s needs. PPLi can receive and
treat various types of liquid wastes that contain a high degree of
contamination. The treatment process incorporates both physical and
chemical reaction processes plus a new biological process followed
by engineered wetland treatment steps that allow us to achieve the
highest cleanup standards for our liquids, all at competitive prices.
Stabilization
PPLi offers a stabilization process for waste delivered in a non-stable
form. Hazardous Waste cannot be landfilled until it is certain the
wastes are physically and chemically stable. The stabilization process
involves various forms of chemical pre-treatment followed by a mixing
process involving portland cement, absorbent clay, water and other
reagents in varying proportions to create a stable, substance. Once
stabilized, the end product is deposited safely into the secure landfill.
Our laboratory produces the engineered “recipes” unique
to this process.
Thermal Destruction
For customers who generate organic hazardous wastes, PPLi is licensed
to employ thermal destruction technology using a modern cement kiln
for complete incineration and treatment of the waste. The high temperature
(1,200 – 1,400 0C) and long retention time inside the cement
kiln ensure that the mixture is completely destroyed. This technology
allows the recovery of calorific value and/or useful materials contained
in the wastes by converting them into Alternative Fuel and Raw Material
(AFR).
Organic hazardous wastes (sludge/liquid) are blended together to
form a synthetic fuel. The end product is tested to ensure it meets
a fuel specification consistent with The Ministry of Environment regulations.
Other organic hazardous wastes (sludge/solid) are pretreated to facilitate
feeding into the kiln in solid form.
The stack gases of the kiln are monitored to ensure that no noxious
gases, including PCDDs/ PCDFs, are released to the environment. Trial
burns and regular monitoring are performed to ensure that the stringent
limit set for the Destruction and Removal Efficiency (DRE) (99.9999%)
are achieved for safe and complete destruction of chlorinated organic
wastes.
Remediation & Site Cleanup
Contaminated sites have become a major issue in controlling industrial
liability assessments during expansions or acquisitions. Previously,
companies did not evaluate the hidden cost for site clean ups. PPLi
offers site assessment and remediation services to help the industrial
community identify and eliminate potential risks and liabilities.
Our fast response time customized services and prompt cleans up can
save your company time and money while eliminating your liabilities.
Oil Sludge Treatment from Exploration, Production
and Refinery Activities
Our Oil Sludge Treatment System separates and recovers oil from oil sludge.
The technology incorporates various processes including centrifuge,
purification systems and stabilization. Once separated and purified,
the recovered oil can be reused by the client or by PPLi.
The remaining solid can be disposed of in PPLi’s secure landfill
or destroyed thermally. The waste water can also be treated at PPLi
(or at your site) to meet the discharge standards.
PPLi offers the most effective waste management solution for your
company’s needs.
Bio-Remediation
By utilizing active bacteria, natural biological systems and industry
know how our bio-remediation technology is able to treat various types
of waste matrices such as oily sludge, tars and contaminated soil.
Our bio-remediation technology can also be used to treat groundwater
that has been contaminated with phenols, poly aromatic hydrocarbons,
organic solvents and other volatile hydrocarbons.
Laboratory Service
PPLi's physical and chemical laboratory is equipped with modern facilities
and is operated by experienced technicians. This laboratory allows
PPLi to develop various treatment processes and monitor water samples
throughout the disposal process.
The laboratory also provides other services such as chemical composition
testing or background monitoring. Please contact the lab for additional
information.
Non-Hazardous Waste Landfill
Therefore PPLi is expanding its current hazardous waste management
service offerings with the construction of a modern non-hazardous
waste landfill.
PPLi uses world-class best practices and will adhere to US-EPA guidelines
by implementing best available technology for environmental monitoring
and protection. Examples of these technologies include geosynthetic
membrane liner systems including HDPE and GCL, and clay liners, advanced
leachate collection and treatment facilities, ground and surface water
monitoring, gas collection and control, all managed by proven operational
methods.
This new operation allows customer to send non-hazardous waste to
PPLi at competitive rates without sacrificing environmental standards.
